Troubleshooting & FAQs
Connection and Access
Q. I cannot access the MCP server?
A. If you cannot access the MCP server or your campaign data, check your workspace connection. The MCP server inherits the active session from your Netcore CE account.
To resolve this issue:
- Verify that you are signed in to the correct Netcore CE workspace.
- If you have signed out or switched to a different workspace, re-authenticate the MCP server connection to restore access to your campaign data.
Q. My tool not appearing in the AI assistant.
A. If a specific tool is missing after connecting:
- Restart your AI assistant session.
- Confirm that the channel associated with the tool (for example, WhatsApp or RCS) is activated on your workspace.
- Confirm that your role has read access to the relevant module.
Empty or stale results
If a query returns no data or appears stale:
- Ensure the date range is within the last 30 days.
- Confirm that the campaign exists in the workspace you are currently authenticated against.
- Re-run the query after a few minutes — analytics may take time to aggregate for very recent campaigns.
Write Access
Q. The create and edit tools are missing from my assistant.
A. Write tools are exposed only to accounts where an Admin has enabled write access. On a read-only account they are not offered at all, so the assistant cannot see them.
Ask an Admin to check Account configuration > MLAI Features > MCP (Model Context Protocol) and confirm that Write access is selected in the permissions dialog.
Q. An Admin turned write access on, but my assistant still cannot create anything.
A. MCP clients that are already connected keep the access they were given when they connected. Disconnect and reconnect the Netcore CE connector in your AI client so the new permission is picked up.
The same applies in reverse. If an Admin turns write access off, connected clients keep write access until they reconnect.
Q. I asked for a campaign and got an app push campaign.
A. App Push is the only channel whose campaigns can be created through MCP. Email, SMS, WhatsApp, and RCS are available for analytics only. A request to create a campaign without a named channel is built as App Push.
Build campaigns for other channels in the Netcore CE panel.
Creating and Editing
Q. The assistant showed me a summary, but nothing was created.
A. That is expected. Every write tool runs in two steps. The first call returns a summary of what it would do and makes no change. The change is applied only when you approve the summary and the assistant calls the tool again with confirmation.
If you did not approve it, nothing was saved.
Q. The campaign was created, but nothing has sent.
A. Campaigns created through MCP are saved as drafts. A draft does not send until it is approved.
Review the campaign in the Netcore CE panel, then approve it there or ask your assistant to approve it and make it live.
Q. The reach number changed after the campaign was created.
A. Before a campaign exists, the panel cannot calculate its real reachable audience, because that depends on the campaign's app and opt-outs. The number shown in the preview is a segment level estimate. The exact count is returned once the campaign is created, and that is the number to work from.
Q. I updated a template, but the campaign is still sending the old creative.
A. A campaign holds its own copy of the content it was built from, made when the campaign was created or last updated. Editing a template changes the template only.
To change what an existing campaign sends, update the campaign and point it at the template again.
Q. My campaign update dropped settings I did not want to change.
A. Some fields are carried over automatically when you leave them out, and some are not.
| Preserved when omitted | Not preserved on a rebuild |
|---|---|
| Campaign name, tags, suppression lists, app inbox settings, time to live, conversion goal | Audience, apps, and schedule |
A change to the creative, audience, apps, schedule, or name rebuilds the campaign, so those three must all be supplied together. A change to the expiry alone does not rebuild anything and leaves the rest untouched.
Review the change list in the confirmation summary before approving. It shows what the update would change, including anything it would drop.
Q. The campaign creation failed because of the conversion goal.
A. A conversion goal is sent as part of the campaign itself, so an invalid goal fails the whole creation and nothing is saved. There is no half-created campaign to repair.
Two common causes:
- The account's default conversion goal is set to a system activity that an App Push campaign cannot use as a goal.
- The chosen event has no revenue field. An event without one cannot carry a goal.
Pick a different event, use the account's default goal, or create the campaign without conversion tracking.
Q. The campaign was rejected because of the template platform.
A. The template's platform must match the apps the campaign targets. An Android template needs Android-only apps, an iOS template needs iOS-only apps, and a template set to all platforms is accepted only when the campaign targets apps on both.
Check the app's platform, then find a template that matches it.
Contact Imports
Q. The contact import has not finished.
A. Importing contacts returns a job ID rather than a finished import, and the job runs in the background. Ask your assistant to check the job status rather than waiting for the original call to complete.
Q. The contact import failed.
A. The CSV must be at a URL the MCP server can download without authentication. Check that the link is reachable and that it points at the file itself rather than a preview or sharing page.
